How We Work
Plans That Fit Around a Life, Not the Other Way Around
Ngon Lok's plans were designed with one question in mind: what does this person actually want from their day? The answer differs for everyone. Some residents come to us because they have a comfortable home but find the days too quiet. Others are ready to simplify their living arrangements entirely. We have built each plan around a distinct need rather than pushing everyone toward the same package.
All three plans run month to month. There is no pressure to decide more than one month at a time, and moving between plans — or combining them — is something we can discuss at any point.
Honest Conversations First
We talk through what matters before suggesting a plan. No family should feel they have been sold something they did not need.
Flexible Month to Month
Every plan runs monthly. Residents can step up, scale back or stop with reasonable notice and no penalties.
What Is Included Is Clear
Each plan lists exactly what the monthly fee covers. There are no standard services billed separately after you join.
Settling In at Your Pace
New residents are given time to find their footing. The team introduces itself gradually, not all at once.
Companion Circles
Small social groups that meet through the week for tea, card games, mahjong and shared stories. Hosts hold the room lightly — the gatherings have a structure but no pressure. Residents who prefer to listen more than talk are as welcome as those who lead the conversation.
- Morning tea sessions three times a week
- Afternoon card, mahjong and storytelling groups
- Groups kept small — typically four to eight people
- A host present in every session, but not directing it
Best Suited For
Older adults who live independently or with family and would value regular, low-key social contact a few times a week without any commitment to a full residential arrangement.
Cultural and Recreation Studio
A weekly programme of calligraphy, Cantonese opera listening, gentle music sessions and craft afternoons, run in a light-filled studio where residents choose what suits their mood. There are no grades and no assessments — the studio is simply a place to do something with your hands or your attention for a while.
- Weekly calligraphy and ink-wash sessions
- Cantonese opera listening — curated by our programme lead
- Gentle music sessions and craft afternoons
- No experience required for any activity
- All materials and equipment provided
Best Suited For
Residents who have always had an interest in the arts, or who want to develop one. Also suitable for those who find purely social gatherings tiring and prefer a focus activity that naturally leads to conversation.
Residence and Lifestyle Plan
A comfortable furnished room with housekeeping and laundry, full dining, and open access to all social, cultural and garden activities — arranged as one unhurried monthly plan. This is Ngon Lok's most complete offering, and it suits those who are ready to hand over the domestic responsibilities and simply live well.
- Furnished room with regular housekeeping
- Laundry collected and returned twice a week
- Full dining — breakfast, lunch and dinner daily
- Access to all Companion Circle sessions
- Access to all Cultural Studio programmes
- Garden and veranda access throughout the day
Best Suited For
Older adults who are ready to simplify their living arrangement and would like to live among peers in a setting where the practical side of daily life is fully handled, leaving time and energy for what they actually enjoy.

What Stays Consistent Across All Plans
Privacy and Discretion
Personal information is handled carefully. Details are shared only with those who need them, and always with the resident's knowledge.
Trained, Stable Staff
All programme hosts and residential staff complete welfare and first aid training. Rosters are kept as consistent as possible so residents see familiar faces.
Clear Monthly Agreements
Every plan is documented. Residents and families receive a written summary of what is included and the terms for making changes.
In-House Catering
Meals for residential plan residents are prepared in Ngon Lok's own kitchen. Dietary preferences and requirements are noted at the start and followed consistently.
Family Contact
Families with a relative on any plan can call or visit during office hours. We will always connect you with someone who knows the situation.
SWD Guidelines
Ngon Lok operates within the Social Welfare Department's guidelines for elderly residential services and maintains current compliance with all relevant requirements.
Not Sure Which Plan Fits?
We are happy to talk through the options without any expectation. Most families find one conversation is enough to get a clear picture.
